SMPCP have been addressing mental health within the catchment for 10 years through community based awareness activites. The original Celebrate Mental Health Walk and Festival evloved into Fluro Friday in 2015.

Held during Mental Health Week each year, Fluro Friday aims to raise awareness of mental health by making the invisible - visible. Originating in Sydney through One Wave, the concept encourages people to dress in bright fluro colours to draw attention to the invisible issue of mental health. Physical activity, is combined with community connectedness and a supportive environment to promote awareness and encourage discussion and acceptance.

SMPCP's Fluro Friday events include beach walks, yoga, stand up paddle boarding, sausage sizzle, guest speakers and information stands from local mental health services.
