We are excited to announce that we will be formally launching the SMPCP Family Violence Statement of Commintment in June and we ask you to 'save the date' in your diaries.

Many of our member organisations have already signed this important document as they are aware of the significance of this vital issue and the role their organisation has to play in contributing to cultural change within our society.

As recently noted in the report released by the Royal Commission into Family Violence “Workplaces have…..been identified as important settings for the prevention of family violence and violence-supporting attitudes”. The SMPCP Family Violence Statement of Commitment (FVSOC) assists organisations to formalise their pledge to demonstrate leadership in the primary prevention of violence against women and their children. Having already signed the FVSOC, your organisation has acknowledged the Commission’s point that “leadership in organisations is crucial to ensuring not only that programs and initiatives are taken up in the first place but also that they are given priority within an organisation, that messages are consistently reinforced, and that employees have the confidence to put what they have learnt into practice.”

To celebrate this initiative, we encourage you to join us at our breakfast launch on June 16 with special guest speakers. More information regarding event details will be available shortly.
